I was a victim of serious vicious assaults. How do I keep my spirituality in a life sentence of pain?

I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. I’m a white male. Twice a complete ****** stranger snuck up behind me and broke my jaw eleven years apart for no reason and no one paid for the crimes, adding to the fury I feel. After numerous surgeries where the doctors only added to the problem, I am left virtually useless in the working world unable speak or even breathe properly. My jaw feels like it’s in a vice and most of the ****** and neck muscles in the left side of my face are useless. I served my country for three years in the military. No medications deal with the nerve damage and I am struggling to keep my spirituality and my sanity. I keep busy as often as I can, but all I feel is anger and resentment for those responsible. I have no respite for the pain and I can’t find a way to find my spiritual self.

How do you practice your spirituality? What is necessary everyday? ?

For me, as a Christian, I try to read my bible, but usually I pray everyday. I often wonder if it is enough. I have sometimes felt that maybe I should be a nun, or a missionary, like I have to dedicate my whole life to it to be good enough. I know that sort of contradicts the whole idea of God having grace on me through Jesus dying though. I don’t know. I’m not looking for advice, I just want to know, how do other people feel about their own spirituality. What is required of us?
Is there anywhere you can actually go to discuss spirituality?

Is there anywhere one can go to discuss spirituality etc. on the internet where the people know not to ask the foolish questions they ask here.

How do you make any distinction between spirituality and religion?

We often use these words as if they were one and the same, or because we have seen them being used together. I will love to hear your thoughts on this.

How do you define the difference between religion and spirituality? ?

For you personally how does religion differ to spirituality and how is it the same? Are you religious AND spiritual or just one or the other? If you are religious does that mean you adhere to one particular doctrine, eg. Christianity, and follow the bible, go to church. OR Muslin, believe in the Koran and visit the mosque? If you are religious do you HAVE to go to church?
Personally I don’t follow any set religion, but I consider myself to be spiritual. Just wondered how “religious” people view religion and spirituality?
