For Freemasons, why did you choose to become a Mason, and what has been your best moment/memory?

I’m getting my Entered Apprentice degree next week, and I’m pretty excited. Just wanting to hear some of your experiences. Thanks!
What kind of dogs would make a good indoor pet; with children and cats?

We have young children, and quite a few cats (We’re a bengal cat breeder). We want a dog that can thrive with the chaos that can often be associated with life with a family. The dog would be fixed. We don’t particularly have a ton of spare time, so we don’t want a long haired dog, besides the fact I’m somewhat allergic. We don’t mind a small dog, but we DON’T want a yipper. Both my husband and I will be working, but it won’t ever be alone, it’ll always have the cats here, and two of them absolutely adore dogs, if anything, they’ll sleep with it and follow it around, play with it. Large, or small, it doesn’t really matter; but it needs to be somewhat easily trained, especially if a larger dog; we don’t have problem putting the time into it that it need to train, but it’s going to grow up with young kids, and we need it to pick up new commands with some work. It’ll be taken for walks, up to 45 mins a day, but would most likely not have a yard to run in. What dog would suit our needs?
I’ll repeat, we don’t want a yipper. Or a long haired dog. Otherwise, we’ll all for any ideas.
How can I fix my dogs unusual behavior?

My dog is a minituare Schnauzer, but he’s really big for a minituare. Well my dogs problem is that he always barks and growls at other dogs, even ones that are twice his size. He can’t confront other dogs because there either scared of him, or they get pissed off at my dog. There are only a few dogs my dog confront calmly. I think my dog only growls because he’s excited, because once he meets the dog he’s very gentle and just sniffs around. How do I fix my dogs problem, I know one way to fix it is to get another dog for him to play with. But my family does not want another dog.
It’s hard to introduce him to dogs because people just walk away at my barking dog lol.
What are some little dogs that are really good at agility? Are bigger dogs better at it then little ones?

What are some little dogs that rock at agility? I’m talking in the 8-13 inch dogs at the withers (shoulders) I am getting a smaller dog but I’m not sure if she’ll be good at agility so I would like to know of some other little dogs that do really well.
How do Cats and Dogs know which is cat food and which is dog food?

I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They’re more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients - chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn’t cat food?
I also know of dogs that won’t eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they’re pigs and will eat anything).
It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who’s? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too - like salmon. You can’t say it’s the ingredient. How come they know the difference?
How do I teach my dog to be nicer to other dogs?

I have an 8-9 year old Chihuahua and every time one of my relatives brings their dogs over, my dog gets feisty and starts barking uncontrollably at the other dog and tries to harm them. We want to get a new dog, but it’s impossible to have 2 dogs in the same house under these circumstances. How do I teach my dog to be nicer to other dogs?
Fighting dogs is a hot issue. Is it equally cruel to hunt animals for sport?

Dog fighting is becoming more of a hot button issue. Dogs are virtually innocent creatures that should serve as a companion. Oftentimes they are used as an assistant in the recreational killing of other animals. Fighting dogs and roosters is no longer an acceptable form of entertainment. Why do people accept the killing of game for purposes other than food and warmth? How can a group of armed men chasing animals be considered a sport?
Can dogs have a small amount of decaffinated coffee in there cookies?

I know caffeen is bad for dogs, but my dog loves the smell of coffee. She goes nuts when I come home with a cup of Dunkin!! I was wondering if it would be a problem if I baked her some plain dog cookies using a cup or so of decaffinated coffee in place of water? I guess the overall amount would be on cup of decaffinated coffee split up amongst 40 - 50 cookies. Thanks!
How to socialize my dog with other dogs?

I have a male maltese mixed, 1 1/2 years old at home and recently adopted a new dog, a 3 years old male shih tzu. The problem is, the shih tzu basically does not get along with all dogs, not just my current maltese mixed. He’ll growl whenever a dog comes near him and even attempt to attack and bite other dogs. Since he is a rescued dog, I do not have any information of his past. He marks very often though I’ve tried to correct him many times.
How do teach him to be calmed and ********** when he’s around with other dogs?
How can I get my dogs to get along better?

They don’t fight or anything like that. My oldest dog (2 1/2 year old Boston Terrierr) lets my new puppy ( 2 month old Jack Russel Terrier) basically dominate him.
She nips at him, chews on his toys and chases him all over the house and our yard. I guess I figured since he is the older dog, was in the house first and is male, he would be the dominant dog. But, she is dominating him. My male dog is fairly passive and will not bark at her, or nip/bite her. I am unsure if I should do anything or just let “dogs be dogs” and let them work it out.
I guess I feel my male dog, seeing as how we got him first, should be the dominant dog. But maybe not.
