I myself never thought of myself as being very religious, but my sense of right/wrong and living life in line with nature peacefully, respect and love is far more sensitively developed than a lot of ppl who claim to be religious around me…. would you classify that as spiritual?

To me spirituality isn’t the same as religion AT ALL.

How do you view your own personal spirituality?
What makes you spiritual?
How do you develop your spiritual side?
Do you think ALL humans have a spiritual side (and those who think they don’t have just suppressed it)?
What makes someone WANT to be spiritual?
Is tuning in to and developing your spiritual essence the epitome of and “epiphany” to happiness?

Thank you.
I don’t know of any mason personally but think it possible I may have had one or two in my ancestry going back over 150 years ago.

I come from a long line of Freemasons on my mother’s side of the family. With this war in Iraq, I’ve come to read a lot of conspiracy theories about the Freemasons that I had no idea existed. Growing up, I always viewed it as a very positive organization compared to the dreary Christian fundamentalism I was raised in. Like the ‘all seeing eye’ that people get paranoid about is specifically mentioned by Jesus and other Jewish philosophers like Hillel and was explained to me as an image of the eye being the lamp of the body - not some image of darkness. Freemasons also have traditionally had nothing against Islam at all. They do against violent parochial fundamentalism of any type. I don’t agree with a lot of the violent thuggery and outright corruption and theft on the grand scale that is coming out of America right now but that doesn’t really have anything to do with Freemasonry - it’s like a perversion of true Freemasonry principles actually. Why do so many people **** Freemasons?
