Considering that once a person has undertaken the Masonic Oath it is then considered inappropriate for him/her to seek further knowledge beyond their current Masonic status, should prospective candidates be sure to research all the aspects of all degees and obligations soundly before venturing unto an unredeemable Oath against their lives, which they might later regret?

I have read up on the freemasons and am interested in joining them. I’m told that it’s a secret cult, but I don’t believe it. I often see people driving cars with Masonic bumper stickers, so I don’t think it could be that secretive. Any advice or information would be helpful on joining.
